Curriculum

The mission of Christian Education is to train the disciples of Jesus Christ. According to the Bible, it says that the right to teach Christian leaders is only permitted to the family and the church. Therefore, education should be achieved in the school which is based on the Biblical ideology of family and church. Accordingly, Skysam International Christian School as a transdenominational institution teaches all the students based on the biblical worldview and the faith in gospel to be Truly God's People who are grateful for the Redemption of Christ and the calling of God. Skysam International Christian School is proceeding with all classes in English based on the curriculum of Bob Jones University (BJU).

Introduction of the curriculum (BJU)

Bible

• When students read the Bible, they consider it as God giving words to them.
• They read at least one book in the Bible (whether in the four Gospels or the Epistles or the Old Testament, etc.) every week.
• They recite the Bible verses which the teacher chooses every week.
• They comprehend the meaning of the Bible verses based on the overall contents of the Bible, the situation during that period of time, front and back context and the grammar.
• The teacher fully explains and teaches the students to understand and apply the Bible properly.
• The teacher demonstrates to students the absolute truth and absolute necessity of the Bible.
• The teacher clearly teaches students about salvation and sanctification in the Bible.
• Students accurately confess and practice the love of God, the salvation of Jesus Christ, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

English(Literature)

• They learn to write with exact spelling, grammar and style.
• They make sure that they understand and arrange correctly the learning content of all the subjects.
• It allows them to accurately express our thoughts and words.
• They Learn the Bible and high-value literature books
• The School life and all classes are taught in English.

Reading

• They learn how to pronounce basic words from their reading.
• They Learn to read correctly.
• They Read a variety of books
• The Students will select books appropriate to their level and apply them to fully understand them.
• They Read high quality books and apply them to their life as they are developing.
• They develop a habit of Reading.

Writing & Grammar

• They learn grammar that is based on writing.
• The Students learn to select words accurately and express them in sentences.
• After reading various genres of texts, they identify themes and materials.
• The Students choose appropriate texts standard to their level, read them thoroughly, and learn the steps of composition.
• They read high quality books and apply the ideas and emotions of the author to their lives as they develop them.
• They make a habit of writing various genres.

TOEFL

• It is an Essential exam for overseas an university, therefore students are encouraged to develop their ability to understand and use standard American English at the university level.
• They understand the structure of TOEFL (listening, reading, speaking, writing) and together ask questions to improve their skills through the repetition of applied questions
• The students learn political, social, scientific, and literary subjects through the TOEFL test.

Speech

• They learn the basic grammar necessary for speaking.
• The students study mainly the phrases used in their everyday lives.
• They improve themselves-confidently through situational dramas, and learn to speak spontaneously.

Mathematics / Algebra

• The students learn the principles of mathematics through logical processes and games.
• Not only the practical parts of mathematics, but also the conceptual parts they learn very well.
• The unchanging nature of God can also be understood through the structure of mathematics that God gave to humans as a gift.

History, Geography

• God is the sovereign leader of human history, so His Story can not be explained except from his sovereignty with His guidance.
• Teaches us to realize the providence of god who interferes and guides us on the Earth and in our history.
• We will learn about Korea and the real life elements of the world and American history and geography.
• To help understand history and geography, they conduct various learning and field exercises such as outdoor classes, guest speakers, Music, Art, food and Architecture for students.
• Students understand the temporal straightforward view of Christian history.

Science

• They acknowledge and understand the providence of God who created the universe.
• We set up scientific hypotheses and experiments to understand the order of creation.
• Through this, students learn essential laws and the truths of the universe that God established.
• Science is educating for 'a way for purpose'
• It is not the purpose of science itself, but it is a tool to illuminate the truth and see that it is a process.
• Learning is through lecture and practice.
• For example, they study by various experiments, proofs and research.

Arts

• Understanding and explore God's creativity and originality to develop potential creativity.
• Students learn to make aesthetic and practical decisions through work and engage in contrasting the environment.
• Students will appreciate various art media and learn about sensory experiences, Harmony and various roles and functions through joint work.

Music

• Students are trained to regularly be happy, upright and wonderful to praise God.
• Students learn musical instruments and vocalization.
• Students learn classical music, hymns and modern music, based on the Bible.
• To enhance/cultivate students’ skills to perform, they receive personal guidance.

Korean

• Basic training through speaking, listening, reading and writing.
• Establish upright view of the state through language.

Korean History

• Teach students the right history and traditional culture in order to let them have the predicament of civilized people.
• Establish a right view of the state together with patriotism through studying Korean history.

P.E

• Raise the spirit of teamwork by learning rules and orders in their corporate life.
• There is some P.E work to train ourselves.

Chinese

• Understand the culture and language of China through practical Chinese and the study of Chinese culture.
• Procedure systematic Chinese study using different teaching materials according to the grade level.

ACT, SAT

• ACT, and SAT which are the state-acknowledged tests are required as the data/reference for most of the universities.
• Instruct mainly English, Mathematics, reading, and science, these 4 topics, thereby preparing for the exam questions which are focused on the academic ability of high school students.
• Through the courses, provided them the core theories plus, test taking strategy.

Manner

• Guide students how to consider others and the principal manners of a serving life.
• Prepare the students to be global leaders by them teaching different cultures and the lifestyles in those different areas of the world.
• students learn how to understand, love, and co-work with others.

Activity

• Excavate the individual’s abilities one by one.
• Students learn their duties by actively participating and sewing.
• Via group work students gain more amicable personality so that they can intercommunicate.
